Pea Protein Waffles

Prep Time 10 mins Cook Time 15-20 mins

 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or your favorite flour substitute)
  • 1/2 cup Folona Pea Protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or any sweetener of your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter for that extra richness)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, but oh-so-yummy!)

Instructions:

  1. Before diving into this delightful adventure, preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. You wouldn't want to keep your taste buds waiting!
  2.  In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, Folona Pea Protein powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Get those muscles working as you ensure a smooth and even mixture.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract (if you're going the extra mile for flavor). Now, slowly pour this wet mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring gently. Keep mixing until you achieve a thick and velvety batter.
  4. Carefully pour the batter onto your preheated waffle maker. The amount of batter depends on the size of your waffle maker and how thick you like your waffles. Close the lid and let the magic happen!
  5. Allow the waffle maker to work its wonders and cook those waffles to a beautiful golden hue. The heavenly aroma will have your family or friends flocking to the kitchen in no time!
  6. Once the waffles are ready, plate them up with a touch of love. You can stack them high, drizzle some maple syrup, add fresh fruits, a dollop of yogurt, or a sprinkle of chocolate chips for an extra delightful experience!
