Decadent Hot Chocolate

  • 2 cups Folona Pea Milk (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 150g dark chocolate (70% cocoa), finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: Espresso shot for a mocha twist
  • Optional toppings: Whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or a sprinkle of cinnamon


1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine Folona Pea Milk and heavy cream. Heat until it begins to simmer, but avoid boiling.

2. Add the finely chopped dark chocolate to the saucepan. Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

3.  Sift in the cocoa powder, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to stir until the cocoa powder is fully incorporated.

4.  Add granulated sugar to the hot chocolate, adjusting to your preferred level of sweetness. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

5. Stir in the pure vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. This enhances the chocolate flavor.

6. Allow the hot chocolate to simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes, ensuring it stays hot but does not boil.

7. If you desire a mocha flavor, add a shot of espresso to the hot chocolate and stir well.

8.Pour the decadent dark chocolate hot chocolate into mugs.
